Meredith Buys FamilyFun Magazine From Disney
The Meredith Corporation has agreed to realize FamilyFun magazine from Disney Publishing Worldwide, adding another title aimed at mothers to its portfolio of magazines, which allow for American Baby, Parents and Family Circle.
“It works well with our parenting procedure,” said Art Slusark, vice president for corporate communications at Meredith. He famed that FamilyFun focuses on women with children from age 3 to 12 while American Infant and Parents are aimed at mothers with babies and toddlers. Family Circle’s nurturing content focuses on tweens and teenagers.
With FamilyFun, which has a circulation of six million, Meredith now has a 60 percent partition of magazine advertising revenues in the parenthood category, according to information from the Publishers Dirt Bureau. Mr. Slusark said that about 35 percent of FamilyFun’s advertising receipts is also food related, so the acquisition fit into the company’s continuing efforts to “copy down in the food space.
