Carlos Barreras-Ratcliff had picked locked doors separating him from girlfriend Maria Montes so many times that a maturity of the knives in their house had bent tips.

Among his 25 arrests was one in which Barreras-Ratcliff had bitten and punched a abounding teenage girlfriend who woke him up because she was in labor, a detective said.

But in July 2010, when Montes woke him up while vacuuming and listening to music, Barreras-Ratcliff didn't by a hair's breadth pick the lock.

He broke down the door separating him from Montes, and the 28-year-old origin of two died from a stab wound from a kitchen knife.
