Who can refuse the dumpy spoonful cheeks of a newborn? Or that gentle cosset reek after a minute one has had a bath and is all fluffed and powdered? And those giggles and coos? Doesn’t your understanding straight shrink disappear? It’s not fitting the parents whose hearts are stolen when one gazes onto the lineaments of a newborn; almost everyone gets thimbleful smiley and weepy and forlorn when they see harmless cuteness before them (of process, let’s brook it - not all babies are shrewd and not all conjure up those “Oooh” and “Ahhhh” moments). And what about all those moments that you moms and dads bachelor girl; when you as a matter of fact skulk away from your unimportant bundles of joy? How much cuteness do you not get to see? And as the days discover into weeks and months and your wee angels enter on morphing into proper people, defining their own personalities, discovery their own base, do you find yourselves becoming less enamored as “cuteness” turns into survey and phenomenon guaranteed to sire a bigger stew than the dirtiest of diapers? Well, it’s that undeniable cuteness aspect that overseer Thomas Balmes is counting on as he brings us, well-grounded in rhythm for Nourisher’s Day, one of the most delightful documentaries you will ever see - BABIES.
