A Wheaton College professor who taught a refinement and wrote books about children’s spirituality was ordered held on $750,000 bail Friday on win of child pornography and weapons charges.

Donald Ratcliff, 60, was arrested Thursday by Carol Flood police after pornographic images of children younger than 13 were discovered on some of the half dozen computers seized by investigators, DuPage County Aide State’s Attorney Anne Therieau said.

In withal, police found two handguns and 1,600 rounds of ammunition, Therieau said.

Ratcliff’s attorney, Dan Collins, said the pistols were family heirlooms. He declined to view following the hearing.

Therieau said authorities do not yet know how many illicit images are complex, but would know more by March 8, when Ratcliff is next due to appear in court.

Therieau said Ratcliff was arrested after authorities well-informed his computer Internet address was associated with trading child pornography images.
