"I know so offended, that the so-called" Christian "confederation would go out of their way to slander and lies spread by depicting Obama in the mold of Aunt Jemima, and referring to Mecca and Islam.

As a Christian I find the distribution of offensive thing, no matter who is represented on a box or a display like that. After all, our belief says that all are created in the image of God.

Families keep focus on Christ, not Santa

Even as a pre-schooler, Savannah knows Santa isn't bona fide. That's because her parents told her.

"We are trying to de-emphasize Santa and re-emphasize Jesus … as they get older, they'll be proficient to make that connection more," said Stephanie Robinson , mom to Savannah, 3, and Luke, wellnigh 2, and a member of City of Refuge Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Houston.

The Robinsons are among the thousands of evangelical families that advance clean about Santa with their kids to emphasize a miraculous story they daydream their children will never grow out of: the birth of Christ.

"I think families are gearing away from Santa Claus because civilization as a whole is taking the focus of Christmas away from Christ," and they have to do more to make sure their kids informed the biblical origins of the holiday, said Juli Slattery , psychologist and ghetto-blaster host on Focus on the Family.

"There's also a huge trend of authenticity and saying things that are dependable, not only for Christian parents but all of society," Slattery said.
