From which English family did Countess Mary von Bothmer, author of German Home Life (published 1876) come?

I read his words, but there is no biography of the author provided. It seems to have lived in Germany because of the connection to a von Bothmer (I would be curious about his identity as well).

Karens in Kentucky find new life challenging
Above his threadbare, second-hand sofa, the flag of an ethnic Karen separatist tendency hung as a potent reminder of the long journey that brought him to the Allied States after years stuck in the Umpium Mai refugee camp on Thailand's moulding with Myanmar.
"We are lucky to be here, but it's not easy," said the 42-year-old Karen, who was a university swat when he fled a crackdown on pro-democracy protests by the Myanmar authorities in 1988, living in jungle settlements before making his way to Thailand. In 2008, Hsar Say, his helpmate, Hsel Ku, and their children Ma Ma Sharal, 11, and Poe Khwa Hsee, superannuated seven, were accepted for resettlement in Louisville.
But they have faced many challenges adapting to their new life. And it's been the same for most of the other 2,400 refugees from Myanmar who have been resettled in Kentucky since 2006. Most are Karen, an ethic organization in eastern Myanmar that had been in rebellion against the central government for more than 60 years until it signed a ceasefire on January 12.
