Death brings memories of time spent with extended family

Unfortunately she passed away on the 27th.

It was offbeat not being home for her wake and funeral. Not being with the family was heartbreaking.

Being here, I would spontaneously start crying telling amount strangers that she had died, whereas if I had been home, people would have known, since everyone knows everyone.

The self-serving part of me would have loved to be home to see relatives that I have not seen for years and years. I always find it sad that funerals are gifted to bring people together like nothing else. It is too bad that money often makes the decisions for families who would partiality to see each other more often.

In the last week I have found myself nostalgic more than once. I miss seeing my cousins.

My Nanny lived decent down the lane when I was growing up, we spent many nights sleeping over at her house. We went to church and Grandma’s sporting house pretty much every weekend. It’s really not like that very much any more is it?

Then, by all means, there are my parents. My father, who is 60, has always been an adopter when it comes to old technology. He and my mother an overview of equity, and they came after me on Facebook mood.

Now I'm two decades removed from my teenage recalcitrant (fortunately this view did not last too much), so I do not look twice before being Facebook friends with my parents. And I still value it a bit clever when they write something on my move in ("Aww, Mom sent me a newsletter from Facebook!").Some young ethnic groups, although perhaps not so happy with the intimation of their parents (or other older relatives) who have access to their Facebook profiles and the comings and goings there....
