by AutumnWindtale | Posted in Botany

Other names of Cyperusae family?

I have in mind that you mean the reeds? The correct spelling is Cyperaceae. All families of limit-aceae. It is a fairly long list.

Unlike trying to list all here, I refer you to this site: http://plants.usda.

Kimbeley marine survey catalogues 50 new algae species

(Found at Barrow Archipelago, Dampier Archipelago and Broome).

Dr Huisman said he was excited about a new species of the genus Predaea, which superficially resembled another species.

Dr Huisman said microscopic inquiry of his voucher specimen showed differently formed cortical filaments and a differently-shaped gonimoblast (diploid spore band).

He said there had never been a comprehensive marine algae survey off the North West seaside.

The most extensive collection in nearby waters was made by Dutch scientist Dr Anna Weber-Van Bosse on the Siboga Swiftness to the Indonesian islands in 1899-1900.

Her specimens are preserved in the Leiden museum, and many of her findings remained unchallenged for more than a century.

Dr Huisman is disputing some of her classifications, having subjected her specimens to DNA judgement and having collected new specimens of some of the same species at different stages of their person and reproductive cycles.

“Red seaweeds in particular have very complex life histories, very complex imitation,” he said.

"The species fluctuate from low, dregs-hugging shrubs less than 10 cm lofty, up to 2.5 m far-fetched, or, in the state of G. fragrantissima from the Himalaya, even a unsatisfactory tree up to 5–6 m improbable. The leaves are evergreen, alternate (vis- in G. oppositifolia from New Zealand), unassuming, and deviate between species from 0.3–10 cm extensive; the margins are finely serriform or bristly in most species, but whole in some. The flowers are cloistered or in racemes, bell-shaped,...
