The children are 2 and 5 in order to not necessarily have to ski. Tubing, sledding and mountain biking could be fun. We live in northwest Arkansas and do not need to drive more than 12 hours.

I find the closest would be in Missouri. It might be a bit too far to go to Colorado, but there will be more choices and slew of snow.

Britain's first Lego-themed lodging opens at Legoland Windsor next month, modelled on the hotel in Denmark with be like Adventure, Pirate and Kingdom-themed rooms. So visiting Billund gave us a nark preview of what it will look like.

In Billund, we stayed in an Adventure lodgings, where there was one main bed and bunks for the boys.

There were creepy-crawlies everywhere - larger than reallife ones and all made of Lego.

There were hold dear maps pinned to the walls, a mosquito net hung over my bed, and the room had chests full of Lego, well-deserved in case the boys got bored.

Those bricks were everywhere - more than 1,600 Lego characters settle the hotel, double the number of human guests. Behind the hotel social desk, there's a wall displaying 5,000 Lego figures, each said to be unrivalled. River and Cory tried to spot a double, as it would win them a prize - of Lego, of speed.

This is not a hotel to go to without children; the average age of guests must be about seven. The restaurant had a grown-up menu - but children's meals concern with Lego-shaped chips.
