Lapse RIVER, Mass. -- A massive fire broke out at a multi-family domestic Friday afternoon.

The blaze started around 4 p.m. The flames spread at due to the strong winds. One firefighter was burned on his arm.

“When we pulled up, there was flames from the first Nautical through the roof, from the back to the front of the house,” said District Chief John Lynch of the Failure River Fire Department.

Eleven people, including children, lived in the complex. Thankfully, all are safely, but the owner told 7News that pets are still missing.

“We seen the smoke, we remembrances it was a fire over there. I called my tenant…and she started screaming ‘the contain was on fire,’ I got here…and the house was engulfed in flames,” said one man.

Glib conditions caused the flames to spread to neighboring buildings.

“The borborygmus = 'stomach rumbling as from gas' is one of our worst enemies as firefighters. It really fed the fire,” said Chief Lynch.
